The internal high-voltage withdrawable unit PT-12 is designed for 12 kV metal armored mid-frame distribution cabinets (for example, KYN28A-12) as a key metering and protection module. Its main function is to proportionally convert high system voltage into a standard low voltage of 100V, providing accurate voltage signals for metering, monitoring and protection devices.

This equipment integrates all components into the drawer frame: high voltage fuses, voltage transformer (PT) and primary terminals. This design ensures an ideal match to the mid-frame switch cabinet. The mobile unit has two standard positions - working and test, which allows for safe commissioning or removal for maintenance. When the unit is in the test position, the primary circuit is interrupted, but the secondary control circuit remains connected, allowing normal adjustment of the protection and measurement functions.

The PT-12, acting as a “voltage sensor” in the system, provides a reliable basis for energy metering, voltage indication, power calculations and relay protection (for example, undervoltage and overvoltage protection). Its compact design, convenient maintenance and reliable insulation make it a key auxiliary device to ensure safe, stable and efficient operation of the medium voltage system.
