Rotary indoor high voltage isolating switch is a key electrical equipment in 10-40.5kV indoor distribution systems. Its primary function is to safely open or close a circuit when voltage is present and no load is present, providing visible electrical isolation for maintenance of high voltage equipment (such as circuit breakers and transformers), an important element of operational safety.
This product performs on and off operations using the rotating blade part; its moving contact (knife) rotates in a plane perpendicular to the mounting surface, closing or opening with the static contact. This rotary operation ensures small and uniform force, and the on and off positions are precise and reliable. The product consists of a base, a rotating insulator, a conductive blade part and a static contact. High strength ceramic insulators provide reliable electrical insulation and mechanical support.
The design takes into account mechanical interlocking, which ensures logical locking with a switch and earthing switch, eliminating the possibility of erroneous operation under load. Due to their notable features of low operating effort, good insulation, reliable locking and long service life, rotary isolating switches are widely used in power plants, distribution substations and high-voltage cabinets of industrial enterprises.
